VARAC G70+ Updates and News
August 2005
And after a short break for some of us (even though it seemed
like a LONG break) were back at it! Next week we
dive into a really busy schedule of racing. Hurrah!!! While
Im not one to wish away the summer I certainly
am looking forward to the fall grids. Jon and I look forward
to seeing the growing group of G70+ cars out on track.
BARC Canadian Touring Trophy August 13/14 at Mosport
So far Ive received more than 13 positive confirmations
for the next G70+ race. Thats fantastic considering its
typically one of our least attended events. Glad to see were
changing that! I expect more cars to make it out so keep
those entries coming. It looks like well have a heavy
turnout of Porsche, BMW, Datsuns and our beloved Corvettes
step up you other marques
we know youre out there.
The weekend is hosted by the ever fun and welcoming BARC-OC.
Use the Race Ontario entry forms www.casc.on.ca/forms/OntarioRaceEntryForm05.pdf
and register for the Aug 27/28 and Oct 1/2 weekends while youre
at it. Unlimited crew and spectators are welcome for free. Tickets
can be printed from www.casc.on.ca/documents/TicketBARCCTT.pdf

Group 70+ at Mont Tremblant September 24/25
You got it Group 70+ has their own grid at the Mont
Tremblant Fall Classic. Now we have to fill it! This event is
the equivalent of the CASC-OR Celebration a fantastic
collection of all the end of the year races in the Quebec and
North Eastern U.S. region. Last year a significant number of
VARAC and VRG members participated and had an incredible time.
I just got back from a three day driving school at this track
and if you havent been there yet it is a MUST DO.
Nestled in the heart of the Laurentians, the scenery is breathtaking
and the track is a high momentum, technically challenging but
fun. This is a great family spot (with lots of activities for
those not wanting to spend all their time at the track). Now
imagine being able to take all your G70+ buddies with you!
REGISTER NOW
its a GREAT adventure. And we need
to make sure we have enough to fill a grid
The Mont-Tremblant package is available in PDF format from
the VARAC website on the events page at www.varac.ca/events.html
. Track information can be found at www.lecircuit.com .

Group 70+ is a VARAC promoted racing class that currently
celebrates the history of racing from 1973 to 1987. VARAC is
the association of vintage racecars in Canada that celebrates
the passion of preserving, restoring and racing vintage racecars.
You're on this email list because somewhere along the line
you expressed an interest in VARAC's Group 70+, perhaps in the
capacity of driver, organizer, spectator or just plain keener
trying to keep on top of things in the racing world. Let me
know if you don't want to be on the list anymore, or feel free
to pass it on to others who might be interested.
