We are well into 2007 and the start of the racing season is just around the corner.
To date I am about 65 members shy of last year's total membership so I know there are lots of you
out there who still need to renew your VARAC membership.
There are two critical dates for you to keep in mind:
- April 1 st - If your membership renewal form and payment isn't in my hands by this date, your newsletter subscription will be cancelled and your e-mail address will be removed from the Club chat line. Keep in mind also that April 1 st is a Sunday and March 31 st a Saturday - there will be no mail delivery on these days.
- April 1 st through April 17 th - I will be out of the country and NO membership renewals will be processed during this period.
I urge everyone to sit down now and get your renewal form and payment to me. Full details can be found at www.varac.ca/membership.html .
Membership Numbers - VARAC currently has no membership numbering system. If a number appears on your membership card it is the registered race number for the vehicle you intend putting on the track in 2007. If track entry forms ask for a membership number, please indicate N/A.
Updating your membership status with CASC so you can apply for your 2007 licence is done by me immediately upon receiving your renewal form and payment. It is not necessary for you to wait for your card in the mail to apply for your licence.
And finally - please keep in mind that anyone who lets their membership status lapse for a full calendar year loses any registered race numbers they have with VARAC. We had several instances of this at the end of 2006. If you do intend to keep racing with VARAC and want to avoid the hassle of changing numbers on your car, please ensure you keep your membership up-to-date.

• Total 2005 membership is 225 with 23 from the U.S. and 1 from the U.K.
• Canada splits - 173 from Ontario, 21 from Quebec, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC with 2 each and 1 from Nova Scotia.
• We have 213 Active racers (where are they all??) and 12 Newsletter members.
