Welcome to the 2026 Peter Jackson Races
Please join us, VARAC, for a one-day vintage racing event - the Peter Jackson Trophy Races at Shannonville Motorsport Park (SMP). This event named in honour of our dear friend and tireless volunteer, Peter Jackson, takes place on Sat July 11, 2026.
It’s an intense, fun, "on-track” packed day! You get Practice, Qualifying and two races, all on the one day. You get basically the same run time here as a two-day regional for 40% of the cost!
All races will run on the Pro Track (2.47 km).
We expect to run 3 race run groups: VHC - Vintage / Historic (VH) and Classic (pre 1999) and Modern Classic CL/MC 3-5 & CMC-Modern Classic (extension of CL for cars from 2000-2005 and beyond in some continuation cases) CL/MC Bracket Classes A. 1-2 and Formula Classic (open wheel/ Monoposto race cars built up to 1999)
Friday night there will be a BBQ and music from our VARAC house band, Fun comes Fast. Get there early and hangout and have some fun!
Saturday, post-racing, will be an award presentation.
A guaranteed, fun-filled, intense good time!
